The Trustees of Cambridge Community Marae warmly invite whānau and community members to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

As a Community Marae, we welcome everyone who wishes to support and contribute to the future of our Marae.

Trustees are responsible for the governance, strategic direction, and stewardship of Cambridge Community Marae. We are seeking individuals who are committed to the Marae's long-term success and who can contribute their skills, experience, knowledge, leadership, and sound judgement to the organisation.

To support good governance practices, all Trustee nominations must be submitted prior to the AGM. This enables nominees to be contacted, participate in a discussion, understand the responsibilities of the role, and ensure they are able to actively contribute to the governance and future direction of the Marae.

Trustee nominations must be submitted to secretary@cambridgemarae.org by Monday 14 September 2026.

The Marae is also seeking expressions of interest from community members who wish to be considered for the Marae Committee.

The Committee supports the practical operation of the Marae and assists with activities such as events, fundraising, administration, communications, project delivery, working bees, and community engagement.

Expressions of Interest for Committee Membership are being sought prior to the AGM to allow sufficient time for applicants to understand the role and commitment involved. Committee appointments will be considered following the AGM in accordance with the Marae’s governance and operational requirements.

Expressions of Interest for Committee Membership must be submitted to secretary@cambridgemarae.org by Monday 14 September 2026.

Not everyone has the time to serve as a Trustee or Committee Member, but many people have valuable skills, knowledge, and experience that can support the work of the Marae.

This year we are establishing a Community Skills Register to connect volunteers with opportunities across our Four Pou Projects and other Marae initiatives.

We welcome people with skills or experience in areas such as (but not limited to):

• Governance and leadership

• Business knowledge and commercial acumen

• Administration and organisational support

• Marketing and communications

• Social media engagement

• Project management

• Building and grounds maintenance

• Trades and professional services

• Education and training

• Health and wellbeing

• Te Ao Māori and cultural development

• Event management and community engagement

Whether you can assist with a specific project, provide professional advice, volunteer occasionally, or support Marae events, your contribution can make a meaningful difference.

Cambridge Community Marae is committed to building a diverse and capable governance and volunteer structure that reflects the wider community. We encourage participation from people who are willing to contribute their skills, experience, ideas, and time. Our focus is on creating a sustainable future for the Marae through active involvement, shared responsibility, and a commitment to our kaupapa.

The Marae is committed to building on the contributions of past and present volunteers by continuing to strengthen a skills and contribution-based approach to governance, committee participation, and volunteering.

A strong and sustainable Marae requires more than goodwill alone. It requires people who are prepared to actively contribute, work collaboratively, make informed decisions, and help ensure the Marae remains well governed, well managed, financially sustainable, and able to serve future generations.

The Trustees acknowledge and thank the many volunteers, committee members, trustees, whānau, and community supporters whose contributions have helped sustain Cambridge Community Marae over many years.

Whether you choose to stand as a Trustee, register your interest for Committee service, join the Community Skills Register, or simply attend the AGM, your involvement is valued and appreciated.

Together, we can ensure Cambridge Community Marae continues to grow as a thriving community hub for future generations.
